Every summer, I see friends of mine travelling to Europe, Asia and South America. Every beginning of the school year, teachers would ask us what we did during our summer and I would always reply with "nothing." It's not true that I did 'nothing', I just didn't do anything 'special' like some people. I'm not sure of how other children spend their summer, but ever since I was kid, I have had summer courses all summer long. And now that I'm grown up, I either take summer courses or I work.
Working has been more intense this summer as I'm working almost six to seven days a week. I don't even have time to 'enjoy life'. During my day offs, I either meet with some friends I haven't seen for a longtime or I go grocery shopping with my mom or I have personal tasks that need to be taken care of a.s.a.p, and during weekdays, I have to lift my brother to school and if I go out, I have to rush back to South Sore to pick him up. I'm like rushing all the time here and there. And it's so noisy everywhere I go that I just can't relax completely. The only time that I can catch up on personal stuffs, like blogging for example, is between 11pm-2am/3am. I've been planning my trip to Toronto every night from 12am-2am, and I have to wake-up at 8:15am the next morning. I'm really curious as to how other people are spending their summer....Am I the only one with this kind of schedule? Is it normal?
I was supposed to go to Europe with a friend but once I made the decision to go, I got into a fiery argument with my mom. Every time we try to speak to each other, we always end up fighting (verbally). We share different values. She can't see it from my point of view, so no matter how hard I tried to convince her, negative. I'm a really stubborn person. Once I make a decision, nothing and no one can change it. I felt really bad at that time since my relationship with my mom was going downhill just because of a trip. Some may think, 'Why isn't she letting you go? It's your money.' Well, all I can say is, I'm living in a typical asian family. In the end, I decided not to go because that little angel inside of me is unable to disrespect my parents and I worship my relationship with my mom more than a trip. Now that I think of it, it was pretty immature of me to argue with her. But, I do envy people who can travel. I envy I envy and I envy a lot. I'm someone who wants freedom, I'm someone who is adventurous, and I'm someone who likes to explore the world, everything. I sometimes feel like I'm a bird in a cage. However, I'm not sad about not being able to travel. There are way more things to be grateful for and to be happy for than being sad for not being able to travel. I just envy. *okaymaybejustatinybitsad* I'm staying positive!
Anyhow, I was supposed to go to Toronto with my family but my father decided not to in the end. So since I really wanted to get out of here at least once before school starts, I agreed to go with my cousin & co although I know I will be third-wheeling most of the time.
That's why I decided to take two days out of the five to just wander around the downtown area of Toronto by myself. I have been searching for some nice points of interest and I'm really excited to explore new places and photograph them. I can finally take out my Nikon!
p.s: I got a new haircut too! Two weeks ago actually.
My hair is not black anymore :D
