People have been asking me this question over and over again, especially my family & relatives. My answer is 'No'.
Most of my friends around my age (or even younger) are in a relationship and I have to admit that I do envy them from time to time. I do wish to be all lovey-dovey and go on trips together with the boyfriend or do couple activities and such, but I am also perfectly happy being single. My family keeps telling me how it is time for me to start meeting someone and get in a serious relationship. I am definitely not opposing to that because I think so too. I don't know if it's just me but I find that I don't have much luck with this 'love' thing.
It is quite difficult for me to like someone. I don't know how to explain this but whenever I meet a friend from the opposite sex for the first time, I can sort of feel whether we can be more than friends or not. It might sound creepy but I observe people. I look at their actions and listen carefully to the way they speak and I can tell a bit what kind of person he/she is. Either the guy is too flirty, a jerk, a show-off, a party-animal, a materialist or a superficial person. I know there are good guys out there but I've been meeting some not-so-good ones, and I'd rather stay single then go out with one of them.
I will certainly not go out with someone just for the sake of being in a relationship or because I'm lonely. Some friends have been telling me that I should stop being so serious about this since 'love is just a game.' 'You have to try a few times.' I don't think it is and I'm so fed up of people breaking up and jumping in a new relationship in a short time. I don't understand why some people can't stay single. I won't judge what other people do with their life. I just think it's sad. It seems like they constantly need attention from the opposite sex. My bestfriend explained to me that people date to get to know each other but it's the other way around for me. I just like to take it slow.
Some of my friends have told me that I should lower my standards. The thing is, I don't even think my standards are high.......... I'm not looking for a handsome man nor a rich man with a luxurious car. It is no secret that I like cute guys but what's more important is still his personality. But it seems like 'good personality' is still too much to ask for nowadays........or maybe I'm really asking too much.....I admit that I'm a really complicated girl. My friends kept telling me that. Oh well, I understand myself.
I'm satisfied with my life now and I'm really grateful for the friends I have. I believe God has someone for me and I am waiting patiently while I enjoy my single life.
p.s: Shuyun, you are such a dumbass when it comes to dating but I'm glad that you keep standing for what you believe in.
ps2: I am also looking for someone who can stand my craziness or better, be as crazy or crazier than me so we can double the craziness together :)
