True Feelings & Finding The Truth

There are times when some things are better left unsaid. We don't always need to know about the truth. However, curious as I am, I want to know everything.

For a long time, I have been a shy girl. The kind of girl who always keeps her feelings inside. I did not really know how to express my feelings to other people, especially when it comes to 'love'. I've always feared of being the weak one once I express my feelings. I was always unable to say how I truly feel. If a friend said something hurtful to me, I would not be content on the inside but I would be unable to tell that friend how I feel about it. Then all those little discontentments would build up and I would start to dislike that friend. I was never able to be honest with my friends. I kept hiding and hiding my feelings and since I'm a paranoiac, I tend to over-imagine situations. It made it harder for me to forgive and then I would get all depressed over stupid things.

I've only started to express my feelings more this year. I've been more open-minded and less shy. I'm not afraid of expressing my love for the people I love, and I'm not afraid of telling other people what bugs me. I like to come clean without hurting other people. It's nice to be straightforward but it's also important not to be rude or impolite. I'm still improving on how to speak the right words.

Recently, a good old friend of mine texted me, saying "I think you have opened up your mind more than before. It's much better this way :) " That made me happy because it made me realize how much I've changed compared to before, and I can say that I really prefer the 'me' now although I'm still far away from being perfect.

I saw this on Facebook before and I think this was one of the reasons why I decided to be more expressive.
"It's better to express rather than expect. You already have the NO, take the risk of getting the YES. We just have one life. Keep it simple."

We only have one life and no one knows what's going to happen in the future. Always cherish the present. If there are things that you want to know, better ask. If there are things that you want to say, say it.

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

p.s: Excuse me for all the grammatical errors, it's 3AM and I'm really tired.

  1. Love this post =D I like how you say that you want to be more straightforward but without being rude. Alot of the time people are rude in the pretext that they are just being honest.
